Studio p.d. Ville en Bois
Home Up Photos inside Photos outside Floor Plan

At 22m2 + 6m2 balcony, this studio's size is in-between our two other studios - larger than an average hotel room, but as with our other studios, with many extra facilities.

It is set in a unique central La Rochelle location "where old La Rochelle meets the new" : right next to the vibrant Ville en Bois quarter, which is set at the entrance to the Old Port of La Rochelle - just 15 mins walk from the studio.

To see the location of the studio : click here !

The studio is on the first floor of a brand new, high quality Residence (with a lift !), overlooking a decked courtyard with palms, terracing and seating and surrounded in all directions by La Rochelle's best places to go : for further information about the location click on Photos outside !

Newly built in 2006, the studio consists of :

bullet

a living/bed room with : sofa, coffee table, dining table & 2 chairs, TV/DVD, CD/radio/cassette player, room safe, a direct dial telephone/answering machine (enabling dial-up internet access if you bring a laptop) and a full sized double bed* with quality mattress, which folds to the wall for daytime living space (it is NOT a sofa-bed, klik-klak etc !)

bullet

in one corner of the room is a kitchenette with : 2 ring hob, mini-oven & fridge with freezer compartment (for those G&T ice cubes !)

bullet

an entrance lobby with fitted wardrobe

bullet

a shower room / WC, with a washing machine & heated towel rail

bullet

double sliding patio doors opening onto the full width balcony, with 2 steamer chairs/sunloungers, table & chairs

bullet

and outside :
bullet

access to secure underground parking (upon request)

and the ever popular "finishing touches" :

bullet

with your confirmation letter, you'll get our information booklet - with everything from our favourite places to eat and drink, to the all important opening times of local supermarkets - and of course maps and directions for getting to the studio !

bullet

and waiting for you when you arrive :

bullet

an abundance of up to date tourist maps, guides and leaflets - carefully organised to make it easy to find just what you want

bullet

the studio Information Folder with details of everything from the latest weather forecast, times of local markets, and information about how to use all the studio's equipment

bullet

initial supplies of tea, coffee, milk and sugar, so you can have a cuppa to recover from your journey (or if you need something stronger there's always the complimentary bottle of wine !)

The studio is well equipped with heating for the cooler months, with wall mounted electric convector heaters.

We're ashamed to say that some of the internal doors, are too narrow for wheelchairs to get through. Otherwise, the facilities are quite accessible for people with mobility difficulties and there is a lift from the ground floor.

This is the one studio (so far) in which guests with mobility difficulties who use a mobility scooter and/or wheelchair have stayed - with very positive feedback ! The surrounding area is relatively level, and being newly developed there are more "wheelchair friendly" ramps around than in other areas - although still not as many as there should be !
