It is set in a unique central La Rochelle location "where old La Rochelle meets the new" : right next to the vibrant Ville en Bois quarter, which is set at the entrance to the Old Port of La Rochelle - just 10-15 mins walk from the studio. Walk out of the Residence and around the landscaped lake next door you'll find a number of bars and restaurants within 2 minutes walk ! No problem popping out for fresh croissants / breakfast, if you forgot to get some in !
But within 10-15 minutes walk you're right at the entrance to La Rochelle's Old Port, with all the life of old La Rochelle :
En-route you'll see just how impressively La Rochelle blends the old with the new. The Ville en Bois quarter takes the sea-faring history & heart of La Rochelle and with imaginative use of yachting's wood and chrome creates a spectacular area that is still very much La Rochelle, including : The Bassin de Chalutiers (with its pedestrian bridge linking to the Aquarium) :
the seafront promenade (just 2 mins from the studio !) :
a range of bars, restaurants :
and some stunning architecture :
All set right next to the entrance to La Rochelle's Old Port ! Or if you fancy a change, walk for about 10 minutes in the other direction and you'll be in the the pleasure marina of Les Minimes, with its yachts, beach, bars and restaurants !
