The studio, set in mature grounds :

The Studio du Parc Frank Delmas is on the second floor of
a high quality Residence (with a lift), set in a quiet and relaxed neighbourhood in the prestigious La Genette/Mail area
of central La Rochelle. Overlooking the mature grounds that surround it, the studio
provides spacious accommodation (34m2 + 12m2
balcony !) for 2 people (we can also provide a child's bed for
one child upon request) in a leafy, residential setting next to the Parc Frank Delmas
.
A 5 minutes stroll takes you to the seafront. Or take about 15 -
20 minutes walking through the Mail park, and you're at the centre of La
Rochelle ! (If you've got mobility difficulties, or take the
seafront route into town, it will take longer - but there are plenty of places
to take a break along the way !)

A range of local shops, bars and restaurants are just around the
corner for any last minute shopping, or if you just want to pop out for a quick
bite/drink. And no problem popping out for fresh croissants / baguettes in the
morning, if you forgot to get some in !
Newly furnished and decorated, the studio consists of :
 | large living/bed room (3.6m x 5.9m) : with full width double patio
doors opening onto
the balcony, a large living area with sofa and easy chair, coffee table, TV/DVD/video
(with BBC World), CD/radio/cassette player, room safe and direct dial telephone/answering
machine (enabling dial-up internet access if you bring a laptop).
At the other end of the room, separated if you wish by curtains on tension
wire, is a full sized double bed with quality mattress. |
 | a separate kitchen/dining room (also with double patio
doors opening onto the
balcony) : newly fitted and fully equipped including halogen hob, full sized oven, dishwasher,
fridge/freezer, microwave and dining table/chairs |
 | a dressing room - plenty of storage for your cases
and clothes ! |
 |
bathroom / WC : bath with wall mounted shower attachment |
 |
large balcony (6.5 metres long !) with table and chairs and 2 loungers.
The balcony faces south-east, so you get the best of both worlds : sunshine
in the morning, followed by welcome shade in the afternoon when the day is
at its hottest ! |
and outside :
 | plenty of parking in the Residence's private car park |
 | use of the extensive gardens and grounds |
 | access to secure communal bicycle store (upon request) |
and the ever popular "finishing touches" :
 |
with your confirmation letter, you'll get our
information booklet - with everything from our favourite places to eat and
drink, to the all important opening times of local supermarkets - and of
course maps and directions for getting to the studio ! |
 |
and waiting for you when you arrive : |
 | an abundance of up to date tourist maps, guides and leaflets
- carefully organised to make it easy to find just what you want |
 |
the studio Information Folder with details of everything from
the latest weather forecast, times of local markets, and information about how to use all
the studio's equipment |
 |
initial supplies of tea, coffee, milk and sugar, so you can
have a cuppa to recover from your journey (or if you need something stronger
there's always the complimentary bottle of wine !) |
The studio is well equipped with heating for the cooler months, with
thermostat controlled wall mounted electric radiators and convector
heaters.
We're ashamed to say that some of the internal doors are too narrow for wheelchairs to get through. Otherwise, the
facilities are quite accessible for people with mobility difficulties and there
is a lift from the ground floor.
From feedback from guests, the
Studio près
de la Ville en Bois
may be particularly well suited for people with mobility difficulties who use
mobility scooters or wheelchairs.
