by road :

From UK, whilst there are numerous ferry routes and operators, we find the easiest to be either the Channel Tunnel or Brittany Ferries Portsmouth-St.Malo, or Portsmouth-Caen. If you live in the south west of England, their Plymouth-Roscoff and Poole-Cherbourg routes are further alternatives.

High speed services operate from Portsmouth to Caen (Brittany Ferries) and from Poole, Weymouth & Jersey to St.Malo (Condor).

But the quickest and cheapest way is to use the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone to Calais : then it's just 61/2 hrs with auto-routes almost all the way - go via Rouen to avoid Paris !

From Ireland, Brittany Ferries go from Cork to Roscoff (March - October), and Irish Ferries go from Rosslare to Cherbourg (all year) and Roscoff (May - September)

From anywhere else in Europe, driving is even easier : both Les Studios à La Rochelle and La Vieille Grange are just minutes away from the main A10 Autoroute from Paris to Bordeaux.
